The Flower Bank is delighted to showcase some of the latest floral designs by our popular in-house designer Susan
Stamper.
Contemporary, innovative but always commercial, they reflect some of the latest global trends in floral art.
Susan recently spent several days in Europe, visiting trade fairs and the latest floral exhibitions and competitions.
“It was fascinating to see how some of the world’s top designers from South America and Europe are incorporating wood, branches, plastics, paper and even coal in designs,” she said.
“Their designs were either loosely arranged or tightly packed to give maximum effect.”
“Like all designers pushing established boundaries I’m not sure that everything they are doing works on an aesthetic or commercial level.”
“Indeed, some of their ideas can look a little ludicrous, but at the same time you start to appreciate the ideas and I am sure they will start to influence mainstream floral designs over the next couple of years or so.”
Inspired by her travels in Europe, Susan has now created three new designs for Spring 2010.
“Florists are always looking for new ways to present flowers and I hope these designs offer some inspiration,” she said.
“Over the next few months I’ll be posting up more and more designs on The Flower Bank website.”
