At The Flower Bank we fully accept our responsibility to manage the environmental impacts of our activities, products and services, setting ourselves annual targets and objectives and always ensuring we comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulation.

In order to promote good environmental practices we have adopted the following practices,

  1. We work hard to segregate our waste and minimize any waste output to landfill.
  2. We monitor all our energy use on a regular basis, and have a purpose built energy efficient building that enables us to make use of natural light.
  3. We collect the rainwater from our roof and use this to keep our flowers in top condition, allowing them to benefit from the softness of this water.
  4. We will always look for opportunities to be better and strive for continuous improvement in our overall environmental performance, including looking at our flower suppliers environmental performance and looking at local producers for seasonal foliages and plants.
  5. We will ensure that all staff understands their responsibility to the organisation's environmental performance and to provide appropriate training where needed.
  6. We have installed two wind turbines on our land which makes us self-sufficient in carbon-free electricity.
